President: Rohan Banerjee (He/Him)

Hi! My name is Rohan and I am the president of Photon. I am involved with organizing Photon’s meetings and events. I am a senior majoring in Math and Physics from Kolkata, India. You can usually find me in the Physics undergraduate room procrastinating. When I’m not there, I am playing video games or exploring Boston. I’m excited to serve as the President for this semester and I hope to meet you at the meetings.

Vice President: Nat Penn (he/him)

I’m Nat, the vice president of Photon! I’m a junior majoring in both Physics and Music Composition and I’m from Newton, MA. My current research interest is biophysics and I spent last summer researching phase transitions in cell membranes. When I’m not studying physics you can usually find me in the music building playing violin or French horn, or working on a composition.

Treasurer: Seven Zhang (They/Them)

Bello!! My name is 7, I’m a junior in Physics and Philosophy and I am the treasurer for Photon. Outside of class I do a lot of theatre at BU (come see Witch by Wandering Minds March 19-21!!!!) and I have LA’d for PY 212 and 313. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I am currently researching storytelling techniques in physics education.

Secretary: Will Stride (He/Him)

My name is Will Stride, and I am a senior mathematics & physics major. I am the Photon Secretary meaning I send out the weekly emails and book rooms for meetings and events. In my free time, I like to read, go for walks, and play games with friends. You might find me working in coffee shops or in the undergrad room of Sci.

Outreach Officer: Roubaix Vidgoff (He/Him)

My name is Roubaix, I am a 3rd year in physics and neuroscience. I do a couple things; pictures, the ‘gram’ otherwise known as the ‘insta’ (@buphoton please follow and like our posts!!!! >:3 ), webmaster, and guest coordination. But the only important thing I have done for this club is this. Oh and science is cool.

Hello! My name is Andrés and I’m a freshman from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I work in outreach for Photon and plan to continue with this work in the near future. Outside of physics, I like to play simulation games like Football Manager, garden, and go hiking in my free time.

Demo Officer : Ganapathi Iyer (He/Him)

Hello! My name is Ganapathi (I also go by Ganesh), and I am one of your Demo Officers this semester. I am from Flushing, NY, where I studied at Fordham University before transferring to BU. I work on curating physics demos and presentations so that y’all remember that we see physics in real life and not exclusively on late-night homework assignments. I am currently studying abroad in Geneva and doing research at CERN.

Demo Officer : Valerie Robledo (She/Her)

Hi! My name is Valerie and I’m a sophomore majoring in Astronomy & Physics and minoring in mathematics. I’m one of the demo officers which means I get to collaborate and help plan the physics demonstrations. Some of my favorite demos include liquid nitrogen ice cream and using a Van der Graaf generator. Outside of class I like to play bass and go on walks.
