T2K experiment confirms electron neutrino appearance

The T2K experiment has reported new results establishing the transformation of muon neutrinos into electron neutrinos. The statistical significance has crossed the 5-sigma barrier, a benchmark widely regarded as a requirement for the definitive observation of a new phenomenon.
