Transport properties of the hot N=4 plasma
Speaker: Andreas Karch, Washington
When: April 18, 2007 (Wed), 12:00PM to 01:00PM (add to my calendar)
This event is part of the HET Seminar Series.
I’ll discuss recent results on calculations of various transport properties of N=4 SYM at finite temperature using the gauge/gravity correspondence. This is the only 3+1 dimensional strongly coupled system in which such calculations are feasible, and several surprising features have been uncovered in the past few years. I’ll discuss some of the efforts to apply some of the qualitative results to the strongly coupled QCD plasma.
