SUMMARY:Transport properties of the hot N=4 plasma
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Andreas Karch\, Washington\n\nPart of the HET Seminar
Series.\n\nI'll discuss recent results on calculations of various transpor
t properties of N=4 SYM at finite temperature using the gauge/gravity corre
spondence. This is the only 3+1 dimensional strongly coupled system in whic
h such calculations are feasible\, and several surprising features have bee
n uncovered in the past few years. I'll discuss some of the efforts to appl
y some of the qualitative results to the strongly coupled QCD plasma.
