After a long repair and commissioning period the Large Hadron Collider at CERN is finally up and running. Collision data at 900 GeV and 2.36 TeV have been recorded by the LHC experiments in November and December of 2009. We will present early results from CMS that demonstrate the detector performance and establish the discovery potential for the 2010 physics run.
