The LHC is the largest scientific instrument on the planet. It will produce GHz collisions of protons at 14 TeV center of mass energy. An unprecedented 15 million GBytes of data will be recorded annually in search of the origins of electroweak symmetry breaking. The answer to one of the deepest questions ever pursued by mankind is almost within our grasp.
