Abstract: The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will soon enable the first precise measurements of particle interactions in an energy regime where the validity of the Standard Model is already challenged, so we are optimistic about finding compelling evidence for a new theory with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. This optimism is tempered by trepidation at the challenges of commissioning ATLAS and determining physical constants in a new collider environment. I will discuss some measurement strategies involving top quarks that may help us cope.
