Abstract: During this very informal talk I will share my personal experience from two internships I've had while a grad student in the BU physics department. One internship was at a physicists-only quantitative hedge fund, and the other was at a pharmaceutical company using deep learning to design vaccines. We can discuss: what it's like to work in "the real world", how to get an internship, how much you can get paid, and anything else you might want to know! The presentation will be primarily Q&A format. If you'll still be here during March meeting, then this is the talk for you!
