SUMMARY:Physics in Industry: Finance\, Pharmaceuticals\, and Machine Learni
	ng
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Timothy Khouw\, Boston University\nHosted by: Eric Bo
yers\n\nPart of the Graduate Student Council Events.\n\nPart of the student
seminar series.\n\nAbstract: During this very informal talk I will share m
y personal experience from two internships I've had while a grad student in
the BU physics department. One internship was at a physicists-only quanti
tative hedge fund\, and the other was at a pharmaceutical company using dee
p learning to design vaccines. We can discuss: what it's like to work in "
the real world"\, how to get an internship\, how much you can get paid\, an
d anything else you might want to know! The presentation will be primarily
Q&A format. If you'll still be here during March meeting\, then this is t
	he talk for you!
