PY107 Physics of Food, Guest Lecture: Michael Leviton
Chef Michael Leviton is an eight-time James Beard Foundation Award nominee and recipient of awards from Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, Gourmet and Saveur. In 1999, he founded Lumiére restaurant in Newton, which was named one off the “Best New Restaurants in America” by Bon Appétit. In 2011, Chef Leviton co-founded Area Four restaurant in Cambridge and spinoffs A4 Pizza and A4 Truck. Currently he has stepped away from the restaurant business to commit himself to family, teaching and increasing public awareness of local and sustainable foods. Chef Leviton served in 2010-2014 as Chair of Chefs Collaborative, a national nonprofit network of chefs committed to building a better food system, and is a Core Chef in the BU Culinary Arts Program.
