I will present the first consistent EFT treatment of dijet searches at the LHC, recasting quark compositeness searches to include the uncertainties inherent in an EFT treatment of the data. This includes the need to consistently truncate the signal function at leading nontrivial order in the cutoff scale and to include a theory error modelling the uncertainty of having neglected higher order terms in the power counting. These constraints will be useful input in a future program to constrain the SMEFT using many different observables in a consistent and model-independent fashion.
