SUMMARY:"Consistent Searches for SMEFT Effects in Dijets"
DESCRIPTION:Featuring William Shepherd\, Mainz University\n\nPart of the HE
T Seminar Series.\n\nI will present the first consistent EFT treatment of d
ijet searches at the LHC\, recasting quark compositeness searches to includ
e the uncertainties inherent in an EFT treatment of the data. This includes
the need to consistently truncate the signal function at leading nontrivia
l order in the cutoff scale and to include a theory error modelling the unc
ertainty of having neglected higher order terms in the power counting. Thes
e constraints will be useful input in a future program to constrain the SME
FT using many different observables in a consistent and model-independent f
	ashion.
