A recent reanalysis and ALEPH data taken in 1992-95 finds an excess of dimuon + bb events at 30 GeV with a narrow width. We examine explanations of this excess where the resonance is a new scalar particle in a variation on a two-Higgs-doublet model. There are two simple explanations of this type, but only one is favored by the data, where both the lighter CP-even and the light CP-odd Higgs scalar have masses around 30 GeV. We also offer testable predictions and a possible no-go theorem for this type of model.
