Renormalization vs Eliashberg: superconducting instability at quantum criticality

The phenomena of High Tc superconductivity is believed to be related to the proximity to underlying quantum criticality, which also gives rise to the Non-Fermi liquid normal state behavior. In this talk, we propose a solvable large N toy model, that enables one to study the interplay between superconducting instability and pair-breaking Non-fermi-liquid effects. We study the interplay both from the perturbative RG point of view; as well as from the non-perturbative Schwinger-dyson eliashberg equations. We show how both approaches yield the same phase structure. As a by-product, we also demonstrate the formal connection between the two methods.
