The Physics Department maintains laboratories in atomic, nuclear, low temperature, high energy, surface and biological physics in the Metcalf Science Center, the Physics Research Building, and the Photonics Center. Faculty also conduct experiments at research laboratories nationally and internationally.
Additionally, members of the department have access to supercomputing resources through the Center for Computational Science, systems support through our Research Computation Facility, advanced electronics through the Electronics Design Facility, and top custom fabrication through the Scientific Instruments Facility.
In accordance with our dedication to teaching, we have continued to manage and develop laboratories for many of our undergraduate courses, and have furthered plans to renovate several of our main lecture halls.
