High Energy Physics with the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

My research focus on the studies of the Standard Model (which represents what we know about Nature behaviour at the fundamental level) and I have been involved in several projects which have led to the detector used by the CMS collaboration to do research at the Large Hadron Collider. The experiment has published almost 1000 papers culminating with the discovering of the Higgs Boson in 2012. I have been spokesperson of the experiment between 2014 and 2016 and I am presently Leader of the CERN team participating in the experiment. I am coordinating the Physics part for the Study Abroad program of BU, following the students when they come to Geneva to participate in the CERN activities.
