From the Big Bang to the Death of the Universe
A survival skill in the new era requires that we understand the physical world around us. Let’s discuss “what do we know, and how do we know it?” This lecture will focus on current and awaited discoveries in our micro- and macro-worlds. Will the Large Hadron Collider reveal the source of the dark matter that surrounds us? Will dark energy accelerate the Universe apart? What is the origin of mass, the Higgs boson? Will the protons in our body eventually evaporate into light? Does our space-time conceal hidden dimensions? Does a massive black hole hold our galaxy together? These are the questions we hope to answer during this talk and your time at BU.
