Abstract: I will discuss some theoretical possibilities for the nature of dark matter and how current and future experiments can help to explore those possibilities. If dark matter is made up of more than one type of particle and some of them are interacting, the resulting structures can be probed with astrophysical observations very different from conventional dark matter detection experiments. I will discuss how cosmological observations, star surveys, and other probes could test such ideas. I will also summarize the status of supersymmetric dark matter and highlight a few places where theoretical and phenomenological progress can be made.
