Notice: The 2020 TOLS Meeting is cancelled.

Due to rapidly escalating health concerns relating to the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the 2020 Theory of Living Systems Meeting at Boston University has been cancelled.

The Boston University Theory of Living Systems Meeting brings together theorists from a range of disciplines each year to discuss conceptual challenges in biology, providing a unique opportunity to expose the abstract and mathematical side of research that transcends specific systems. By opening a dialogue among different perspectives on fundamental questions, we aim to catalyze major theoretical advances.

These meetings are organized the the BU Theoretical Biophysics Group, comprising the laboratories of Pankaj Mehta, Daniel Segre and Kirill Korolev, in addition to a set of independent postdoctoral fellows. They collaborate regularly with experimentalists across the university, participating in the BU Microbiome Initiative, the BU Biological Design Center, the BU Bioinformatics Program and the Center for Regenerative Medicine.

The BU Theory of Living Systems Meeting is made possible by generous support from the Simons Foundation through their MMLS program.
