When a dentist X-rays your teeth, a lead apron is placed over
your chest and lower body. What is the purpose of this apron?
SOLUTION: You've probably heard this one before. The lead apron
protects your delicate areas from exposure to x-rays. Why lead?
Well, it's really dense, so an x-ray photon has a higher probability
of being stopped by it. If you used another material, you'd need
it to be thicker.
