The new modules could have soldering problems which could pose a danger of damaging the parts so we can not directly insert the card to a uTCA crate for testing. We used to have a test jig for this purpose, I wonder if you have got it already, if not ask Dan if he knows its whereabouts. The test jig needs 12V power and we need to find a power supply that you can set current limit to its output and you can read its output voltage and current. After connecting the power supply to the test jig without AMC13 module, first check if the power supply is about 12 Volt. Then insert an old known to be good AMC13 module to the test jig and turn on the power supply. Normally the power supply output should come up and reads 12 Volt. If it is much lower than that and current reading is lower than 1A, then maybe the current limit is set to low and you can slowly increase the current limit until the power supply output is normal. Turn off power and replace a new AMC13 module and turn the power supply again. If there's no power problem with the module, the voltage reading should be 12 and the current reading should be much lower than that of the old AMC13 because the FPGAs on the new module are not configured. Connect initial test of AMC13XG on the special test stand: Open CHIPSCOPE(v14.5 or later) and loading project file physics.bu.edu/~wusx/download/amc13xg/test/testAMC.cpj Configure T2 and then T1 with files amc13_t2test.bit and amc13_t1.bit in the same folder. Open VIO consoles of MYVIO0 and MYVIO2, set prbssel to 0x111111111111 and amc1 thru amc12 in MYVIO0 would get some counts and then stay unchanging. If any channel is counting continuously, the corresponging AMC Tx/Rx has a proprblem. amc_en in the same window should read 0xfff. Connecting TTC signal to the bottom SFP and you should be able to see TTC clock signals on the terminating resistors on the test stand. production firmware: T2 firmware can be found at physics.bu.edu/~wusx/download/amc13 There are amc13T2v0x0033_6slx45t.bit, amc13T2v0x0033_6slx45t.mcs and T2Goldenv0x33.mcs T2 also has a MMC to be programmed. T1 firmware is generated by Daniel Gastler, the latest versions are: AMC13T1v0x2264_7k325t.mcs, AMC13T1v0x6064_7k325t.mcs or AMC13T1v0x8142_7k325t.mcs Find out which flavor is to be used and ask Dan where to find the latest version
