Instructions about amc13xg teststand firmware First, put a TTC loop back SFP module into the bottom SFP cage. Then, put three 10G(8G) SFP loopback module into the top three SFP cages. connect the digilent JTAG cable to the AMC13 JTAG header. VDD side should be up. turn on the fan and then the 12V power supply. 1. log in as daq to bul3x1 2. double click chipscope pro icon 3. in File menu, select among a list c:\impact\teststand.cpj Important !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from step 4 on, it may ask you if you want to save the changes. Always click no. Important !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4. in JTAG Chain menu, click Digilent USB JTAG cable 5. in Device menu, select DEV1 and then configure and click OK 6. in Device menu, select DEV0 and then configure and click OK 7. if not already open, click the DEV1 UNIT0 VIO Console in the bottom of project:teststand panel. check that the ErrCnt should be 0, at least not changing. TxFB and RxFB should be changing. T1_ready should be 1. 8. click DEV0 UNIT1' VIO Console(in the middle of the panel) check that TTCcntr is changing(if not, TxFB and RxFB in step 7 will not change) mem_sta is changing(otherwise, there's a memory error detected) 9. click DEV0 UNIT0's VIO console and change values of AMC_RxSel, AMC_TxSel. Legal values are 1, 2, 3 and 4. When AMC_TxSel = AMC_RxSel, all errN(N=1 thru 12) should not change. When otherwise, all errN should be changing. 10. Do the same for SFP_RxSel and SFP_TxSel and check SFP_errN in DEV0 UNIT1 panel. 11. use a scope to look at signals at the terminals of resistors on the test stand. you should see 40MHz LVDS level signals on them. Turn off the 12V power supply before you remove it from the test stand. This procedure tests the memory, front panel SFP ports and AMC backplane links and GTP link between T1 and T2. TTC clock outputs are also tested.
