Midterm 1

 

TIME

Monday, February 10 from 8:00 – 9:30 pm

 

LOCATION

The exam will take place in two different rooms:

for students with last names starting with A-L: SMG 105

for students with last names starting with M-Z: SCI 107

 

FORMAT

The exam will consist of five problems, each worth 20 points. One problem will be multiple choice, the other four will be multipart problems, similar to some of the homework problems.

 

MATERIAL COVERED

The exam will cover the following material (even if not all of it was covered explicitly in the lectures):

chapter 1

all material

chapter 2

all material

chapter 3

all material except section 3-7

chapter 4

all material except section 4-7

chapter 5

all material

chapter 6

sections 6-1 and 6-2 only

 

RULES

The exam will be closed book.

We will provide an equation sheet - a copy of it will be distributed in class on February 4.

No calculators are allowed for the midterm.
