Activities

  1. Use the second slider in the menu to adjust the angular frequency of whatever is driving the wave (this could be our own vocal cords, for instance, if you are creating a sound wave yourself). How, if at all, does changing the angular frequency affect the wavelength of the wave?
  2. Use the third slider in the menu to adjust the wave speed of the medium through which the wave is traveling. How, if at all, does changing the wave speed affect the wavelength of the wave?
  3. In the longitudinal traveling wave, you should be able to see clearly that the wave travels to the right. Does this mean that there is a net flow of molecules to the right? If not, is there a net flow of anything to the right?
