Research Interests:
My research field is Condensed Matter Theory. At the moment I am engaged into two projects:
1) I am working with Porf. Polkovnikov on non-equilibrium stat. mech. We are trying to understand how the energy distribution of a closed system evolves when the environment can perform work on the system. Right now we are using classical models but soon we will address the quantum counterpart. This is a hot field in the scientific community nowadays. We use results from sudden quenches, adiabatic theorem, Jarzinsky equality, Crooks theorem and many others to try to investigate our questions.
2) I am collaborating with Prof. Castro Neto. I am studying the properties of curved, SP2 carbon structures, mainly graphite and schwarzites. This work is the natural continuation of my thesys work in which I performed a topological study of the smallest genus-2 schwarzites.
