	ystems such as the Internet\, social networks\, and biochemical networks --
	 systems that fall somewhere between the perfectly ordered and perfectly ra
	ndom limits we are familiar with the in physical world.  This talk will des
	cribe some of the fundamental results in this rapidly growing field\, as we
	ll as new results on structure and hierarchy in networks that reveal unexpe
	cted links between network theory\, signal processing\, and the fundamental
	 limits of computation.
