SUMMARY:Singlet condensation on an antiferromagnetic background in CaMn2Sb2
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Verner Thorsmolle\, Rutgers University\nHosted by: Ri
chard Averitt\n\nPart of the Biophysics/Condensed Matter Seminar Series.\n\
nAbstract:\nI will present recent transport and spectroscopic Raman studies
	\,\nsupported by DFT-DMFT computations\, of CaMn2Sb2 which presents a\nnarr
ow gap insulator harboring a weak ferromagnetic phase below 200 K\nand an a
ntiferromagnetic (AF) phase below 85 K. Upon approaching the\nAF phase Rama
	n spectroscopy shows a broad continuum below 50 meV\nemerging into a cohere
nt 32 meV excitation which also governs\nArrhenius type conductivity. The l
ow-temperature behavior is\ninterpreted in terms of singlet pairing above t
he computed AF order\nwhere the emergent feature is due to singlet pair bre
	aking excitations\ninto quasiparticles.
