SUMMARY:Graphene as a Lorentz-breaking defect quantum field theory
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Dam Son\, INT\, Washington\n\nPart of the HET Seminar
Series.\n\nGraphene is a two-dimensional hexagonal lattice of carbon atoms
. It has been realized experimentally a few years ago and is attracting con
siderable attention due to the quasi-relativistic nature of fermion excitat
ions. I will describe recent work on the role of Coulomb interaction in gra
phene\, where one encounters a new type of scale invariance in quantum fiel
d theories with Lorentz breaking. Ref: cond-mat/0701501
