SUMMARY:Hybrid Monte Carlo simulation of graphene
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Claudio Rebbi\, Boston University\, Physics Chair\n\n
Part of the Condensed Matter Theory Seminar Series.\n\nAbstract:\nAbstract:
I will briefly review the Hamiltonian of the graphene\nsystem and show ho
w the partition function and Green's functions\nfor the quadratic Hamiltoni
an can be expressed in path integral\nform by using fermion coherent states
. I will then show how one\ncan incorporate the Coulomb interaction into t
he path integral\nand how this can be simulated with the hybrid Monte Carlo
\ntechnique. I will compare the results of the simulation with\nexact Gree
n's functions in an extremely simplified two-site model. \n\n(Based on rese
arch done in collaboration with Richard Brower and\nDavid Schaich)
