DESCRIPTION:Featuring Adarsh Ganesan\, US National Institute of Standards a
	nd Technology\nHosted by: Christopher Laumann\n\nPart of the Condensed Matt
	er Theory Seminar Series.\n\nPhononic frequency combs (PFC) are the mechani
	cal analogs of celebrated photonic frequency combs. These represent a newly
	 documented physical phenomenon in the well researched physical domain of M
	EMS resonators [1]. The emergence of PFC is mediated by nonlinear modal cou
	pling. Through a series of experiments with MEMS resonators\, various featu
	res of PFC have now been identified. These include drive parameters for com
	b operation\, hysteresis for comb spectrum tailoring and growth\, saturatio
	n and attenuation mechanisms of combs\, and nonlinear sensitivity to physic
	al perturbations. My talk will describe the physics of phononic frequency c
	ombs and how these could be foundational to the fields of photonics\, MEMS\
