SUMMARY: Search for Heavy 5/3 Charge Fermionic Top Quark Partner in Same-Si
gn Dilepton Final State using 13 TeV Data with the CMS Detector
DESCRIPTION:Featuring David Zou\n\nPart of the Departmental Seminars.\n\nDi
ssertation Committee: James Rohlf\, Indara Suarez\, John Butler\, Kenneth
Lane\, Claudio Chamon\n\nAbstract:\n\nThe discovery of the Higgs boson in 2
012 was an important and exciting moment in the world of high energy partic
le physics. But unanswered questions\, including the hierarchy problem\, re
main and motivate current and future physics searches beyond the Standard M
odel. Composite Higgs theories predict new\, heavy fermions which stabilize
the Higgs mass. This talk will focus on the search for one such particle\,
a fermionic top quark partner with an exotic 5/3 electric charge (the X53)
\, which can be produced via pair production or singly. I will present the
X53 search in the same-sign dilepton final state\, showing results of the s
earch for pair-produced X53 using the 13.9/fb data collected by the Compact
Muon Solenoid experiment between 2015 and 2016. No significant excess of e
vents with respect to the predicted Standard Model backgrounds is observed\
, and the mass of the X53 is excluded below 1160 (1100) GeV for a right (le
	ft) handed X53
