SUMMARY:Axions at LHC and flavor factories
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Diego Redigolo\, Weizmann Institute of Science\n\nPar
t of the HET Seminar Series.\n\nI will discuss different physics cases lead
ing to light new particles below the EW scale. The main focus will be on he
avy axion solutions of the strong CP problem where the QCD axion is testabl
e at colliders\, but also pseudo-Golstones from Supersymmetry and Partial C
ompositeness will be discussed. The common feature of these classes of mode
ls is to provide a light new state below the EW scale which generically cou
ples to both photons and gluons. This physics target is surprisingly uncons
trained by current searches. I will present a new search program to hunt fo
r resonances below the EW scale at the LHC and at flavor experiments such a
s LHCb and Belle II. Finally\, I will discuss further challenges and new di
rections to improve the experimental reach.
