SUMMARY:Precision Comparison of the Proton and Antiproton Magnetic Moments
	in a Penning Trap"
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Mason Marshall\, Harvard University\n\nPart of the HE
E Seminar Series.\n\nInvariance under the simultaneous action of charge con
jugation\, parity inversion\, and time reversal (CPT) is a fundamental feat
ure of the Standard Model. However\, physics beyond the Standard Model is
required to explain basic features of the universe\, including matter-antim
atter asymmetry. A precise comparison of the properties of matter-antimatt
er partners represents a direct laboratory test of CPT invariance. At Harv
ard\, Northwestern\, and the CERN Antiproton Decelerator (AD)\, our effort
is underway to precisely compare the magnetic moments of a single proton or
antiproton in a Penning trap\, as a test of CPT invariance in the baryon s
ector. Recent improvements to our Penning trap methods have opened the doo
r to a sub-PPB comparison. In this talk I will describe the methods and mo
tivations for a Penning trap magnetic moment measurement; the ongoing work
at the AD; and the current status of the next-generation experimental effor
	t at Harvard.
