SUMMARY:Machine Learning and the String Landscape
DESCRIPTION:Featuring James Halverson\, Northeastern University\n\nPart of
the HET Seminar Series.\n\nI will review efforts to study string theory usi
ng techniques from data science\, including supervised machine learning and
deep reinforcement learning. Most of the talk will focus on studying a par
ticular ensemble of 10^{755} string geometries\, which exhibits some univer
sal physical features\, has indirect implications for the de Sitter swampla
nd conjecture\, and raises a new dark matter concern.
