SUMMARY:Aspects of Higgs Physics
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Lukas Pritchett\n\nPart of the PhD Final Oral Exams.\
	n\nExamining Committee: Ken Lane\, Liam Fitzpatrick\, Kevin Black\, Chris G
rant\, Chris Laumann\n\nThe Higgs sector is the collection of elds and part
icles responsible for the spontaneous\nsymmetry breaking of the electroweak
symmetry. It is the keystone of the\nStandard Model of particle physics. W
hile the Standard Model Higgs sector is in\nagreement with current experime
nts alternative models often arise to explain experimental\nanomalies\, or
to answer puzzles about the Higgs model itself. In this\ndissertation I exp
lore two such alternative models of the Higgs sector. The rst is\na model o
f a composite Higgs boson that is designed to be \minimally ne-tuned."\nI d
emonstrate how it generates a light Higgs boson with one ne-tuned parameter
.\nThe most accessible expected phenomenological signatures of such a model
are heavy\nresonances decaying into weak vector bosons. I compare the pred
icted behavior of\nthese resonances to recent experiments at the Large Hadr
	on Collider.
