SUMMARY: INTERACTING DARK SECTORS IN COSMOLOGY
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Manuel Buen Abad Najar\n\nPart of the PhD Final Oral
Exams.\n\nExamining Committee: Martin Schmaltz\, Emanuel Katz\, Liam Fitzp
atrick\, Claudio Chamon\, Chris Grant (Chair)\n\nAbstract:\nWe present two
different interacting dark sector models: one in which the dark\nmatter par
ticle is charged under a non-abelian dark gauge group\, whose gauge bosons
constitute a \ndark radiation component; and one in which a fraction of the
dark matter has efficient \nnumber-changing self-interactions that keep it
warm. We find that in general the structure \nformation is slowed down in
these models\, which addresses a discrepancy in the measurement of the \nÏ
ƒ8 parameter of large-scale structure. We also perform fits to cosmological
data for a \ngeneralization of the non-abelian model (in which only a frac
tion of the dark matter interacts with \nthe dark gauge bosons) and show th
at it can ease the current experimental tension in the \nmeasurement of the
	 Hubble expansion rate H0.
