SUMMARY:"Topological defect lines and RG flows in 2D"
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Xi Yin\, Harvard University\n\nPart of the HET Semina
r Series.\n\nTopological defect lines in 2D generalize both global symmetri
es and Verlinde lines\, and provide models of fusion categories without bra
iding. I will discuss their roles in CFTs and in constraining RG flows\, an
d use them to determine the infrared (fully extended) topological quantum f
ield theory in some examples of massive flows.
