SUMMARY:"Jet substructure as key to LHC physics"
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Clemens Lange\, CERN\nHosted by: Tulika Bose\nPoster:
	 http://physics.bu.edu/internal//files/download/Clemens-Lange-Poster.pdf\n\
nPart of the HEE Seminar Series.\n\nThe Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the
world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. Its high-energy c
ollisions have the potential to create new heavy states that decay into a p
lethora of particles through a long decay chain. The reconstruction of what
happened during the particle collision is therefore a very challenging end
eavor. This can get even more difficult when the particles are very collima
ted due to a high Lorentz boost. The final state particles will then typica
lly be collected in a single object\, called jet. In this case\, one needs
to investigate the substructure of the jet to understand its nature. In thi
s presentation\, I will explain the techniques used to explore jet substruc
ture by means of diboson resonance searches performed at the CMS Experiment
	.
