SUMMARY:Self-Interacting Dark Matter
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Hai-Bo Yu\, UC Riverside\n\nPart of the HET Seminar S
eries.\n\nThe ΛCDM paradigm has been remarkably successful in explaining t
he large-scale structure of the universe\, but it fails to accommodate the
observations on galactic scales. In this talk\, I will discuss recent devel
opments of self-interacting dark matter(SIDM). I will show that SIDM can pr
ovide a consistent solution to the small-scale issues across all scales\, e
ven though individual systems exhibit a wide diversity in their properties.
