SUMMARY:Latests Results from IceCube with an eye to the Future
DESCRIPTION:Featuring John Felde\, University of Maryland\nHosted by: Chris
topher Grant\n\nPart of the HEE Seminar Series.\n\nThe IceCube Neutrino Obs
ervatory\, located at the geographic south pole\, is the largest high energ
y particle tracker ever built. IceCube is uniquely sensitive to search for
high energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin. Initial analyses of data tak
en with the completed detector have lead to the discovery of a diffuse astr
ophysical neutrino signal. The source objects capable of accelerating these
neutrinos\, and possibly cosmic rays\, remain unknown. I will review the l
atest results from IceCube and describe the current effort to contribute to
	 multi-messenger astrophysics. Finally\, I will introduce a proposed detect
or expansion to target the discovery of neutrino point sources.
