SUMMARY:The Cosmological Constant Problem in Scalar Gravity
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Prateek Agrawal \, Harvard\n\nPart of the HET Seminar
	 Series.\n\nI will discuss a toy theory of gravity where the gravitational 
	force is mediated by a scalar particle. This theory can be understood as th
	e low-energy limit of a spontaneously broken Conformal Field Theory\, and s
	erves as an intriguing analog to General Relativity\, capturing many qualit
	ative features. In fact\, it exhibits a fine-tuning problem closely resembl
	ing the cosmological constant problem. A solution to this cosmological cons
	tant problem in scalar gravity has been proposed. I will discuss an explici
	t realization of this solution and its connections with the cosmological co
	nstant problem in our universe.
