SUMMARY:Measurement of W and Z-Boson Production Cross Sections in pp Collis
ions at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV with the ATLAS Detector
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Efe Yigitbasi\n\nPart of the Preliminary Oral Exam.\n
	\nExamining Committee: John Butler\, Tulika Bose\, Shyamsunder Erramilli\,
and Ken Lane\n\nAbstract:\n\n\nThe measurement of weak vector boson product
ion cross section at hadron colliders provides an early look into possible
new physics signatures as well as a test of our understanding of QCD and EW
processes at a new energy scale. The relatively large cross section and ea
sily identifiable decays to leptonic final states offer a clean experimenta
l signature which can be measured to high precision even with a relatively
small amount of data. In addition theoretical predictions are well known an
d available at NNLO accuracy in QCD and NLO accuracy in radiative EW proces
ses. In this talk I'll present the measurements of the W->lν and Z->ll pro
duction cross sections in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV usin
g data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at Large Hadron Collider\, correspo
nding to a total integrated luminosity of 81pb^(-1).\n\n![Efe](/resources/e
