	ns are a subject of hot\ninterest mainly due to synchronization effects tha
	t can\nbe viewed as a nonequilibrium order-disorder transition.\nKuramoto m
	odel is a pardigmatic system in this field\, similar\nto the Ising model fo
	r equilibrium phase transitions. In this talk\,\nafter introducing basic id
	eas\, I focus on two generalizations \nof the Kuramoto system. In the first
	 case one skips the usual\ncondition that frequencies of all oscillators ar
	e nearly equal\, and\nconsiders multifrequency populations\, having signifi
	cantly different \nbasic frequencies. In the second example\, I show that i
	n populations\nof identical oscillators with time delay chimera states\, wi
	th some\noscillators synchronized and some not\, can exist.
