SUMMARY:Entanglement in Fluctuating Phases
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Ari Turner\, Johns Hopkins\n\nPart of the Condensed M
	atter Theory Seminar Series.\n\nI will show how entanglement (familiar from
	 the Einstein Podolsky Rosen paradox about perfect correlations between pai
	rs of spins) explains some properties of condensed matter.\n Entanglement c
	an be described by introducing an imaginary system of one dimension less th
	an a given system\, known as the entanglement Hamiltonian.\n\nI will use th
	e entanglement Hamiltonian to understand the properties of phases of magnet
	ic systems that have no long-range order (even at zero temperature) due to 
	quantum fluctuations.  I will show that it can be used to identify a hidden
	 order that distinguishes between different phases of this type (known as t
	opological phases).\nI will also use it to predict the probability distribu
	tion for spin fluctuations\, and to show the differences between quantum an
	d thermal fluctuations.
