SUMMARY:New Techniques for New Physics Discoveries at the LHC
DESCRIPTION:Featuring James Gainer\n\nPart of the HET Seminar Series.\n\nTh
e CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has recently resumed operation probing p
hysics at the weak scale and beyond. New ideas are crucial for leaving no
stoned unturned in the search for new physics that explain the large hierar
chy between the weak scale and the Planck scale and\, perhaps\, provide ins
ight into the nature of dark matter. We discuss the Matrix Element Method\
, a powerful multivariate technique that has recently played an important r
ole in Higgs studies\, as well as exciting new techniques based on Voronoi
	tessellations.
