	tter Seminar Series.\n\nAbstract:\nKinetics of ballistic aggregation and fr
	agmentation is studied for a set of microscopic aggregation and fragmentati
	on models. We describe evolution of a system of interacting particles using
	 the Enskog-Boltzmann equation for the mass-velocity distribution function.
	 We derive Smoluchowski-like equations for concentrations of particles of d
	ifferent mass and for their mean kinetic energy. We analyze these equations
	 analytically and numerically. For the case of lacking fragmentation we obs
	erve several evolution regimes\, if however\, fragmentation is present\, th
	e system evolves to a steady state. We reveal universality of the particle 
	size distribution for the steady state. Namely\, we show that if fragmentat
	ion occurs with a strong dominance of small pieces\, the resulting steady-s
	tate distribution does not depend on a microscopic fragmentation mechanism.
	 Application to the Saturn Rings demonstrates a good agreement between the 
	observation data and the theory.
