SUMMARY:On recent anomalies in B decays at LHCb
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Diego Guadagnoli\, LAPTh/Annecy\n\nPart of the HET Se
minar Series.\n\nAbstract:\nI start with a theorist's overview of recent LH
Cb data on b to s decays\, some of which seem to hint at non-standard effec
ts. After pointing out mundane explanations where applicable\, I discuss ho
w\, rather remarkably\, a consistent picture of non-standard effects is pos
sible already within an effective-theory framework. I then focus on an LHCb
measurement hinting at lepton-flavor non-universality effects beyond the S
	M. Such effects generally imply also lepton flavor violation at rates much
higher than within the SM. In the context of a simple model I discuss a num
ber of experimental tests of this possibility\, at LHCb and elsewhere.
