SUMMARY: Measuring two observables on a single jet
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Duff Neill\, MIT\n\nPart of the HET Seminar Series.\n
	\nAbstract: With the excellent resolution of the LHC detectors\, and the po
	tential for new physics to hide itself in QCD backgrounds\, increasingly de
	tailed questions have been asked about the structure of jets. To squeeze th
	e most information out\, often several observables are measured and correla
	ted at once (ratio of 1 and 2 subjettiness\, for instance)\, and a predicti
	ve understanding of the QCD background is required.  As a simpler case\, I 
	will explain the effective theory structure of measuring two different angu
	larities. No single factorization can be written that covers all of the jet
	-like phase space. Lessons will be learned about the magic of taking EFT po
	wer counting seriously\, and applications to more interesting phenomenologi
	cal observables proposed. This will be a blackboard talk.
