SUMMARY:The Holomorphic Higgs Portal : General methods for the Higgs Lagran
	gian in SUSY
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Piyush Kumar\, Yale University\n\nPart of the HET Sem
inar Series.\n\nAbstract:\nWe develop a systematic and general approach to
study the\neffective Higgs Lagrangian in a supersymmetric framework in whic
h the Higgs fields in the\nvisible sector couple weakly to another sector.
The extra sector\, which may be\nstrongly coupled in general\, is assumed t
o be superconformal in the\nultraviolet\, but develop a mass-gap with super
symmetry breaking in the\ninfrared close to the TeV scale. The main techniq
ue used in our approach is\nthat of the Operator Product Expansion (OPE). B
y using OPE methods we are\nable to compute the parameters in the Higgs Lag
rangian to quadratic order\nand make general statements that are applicable
to many classes of models.\nThis approach allows us to understand the trad
itional problems\nplaguing simple models from a different perspective\, pro
vides a\nunifying framework to describe the various solutions considered fo
r these problems\,\nand in the process\, also suggests new possibilities. T
he methods and results of our work should be useful in\neventually construc
ting a viable and natural model of Beyond-the-Standard Model physics.
