SUMMARY:CMT Group Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Cheng-Wei Liu\, Boston University\n\nPart of the Cond
ensed Matter Theory Seminar Series.\n\n"Computational study of spin-glass t
ransitions approached through\nnon-equilibrium quench"\n\n We propose and d
emonstrate an efficient simulation scheme for studying\nspin-glass transiti
ons. This method is based on the idea of approaching\nthe transition point
	through a non-equilibrium quench process\, formally\nknown as Kibble-Zurek
mechanism. Recent studies have shown that there\nexists dual scaling behavi
or as a function of quench velocity. This dual\nscaling behavior allows us
to extract transition point\, static critical\nexponents as well as dynamic
exponents to good numerical accuracy with an\nefficient computational effo
rt. We have tested this approach with\nanti-ferromagnetic Ising model on 3-
regular random graphs in terms of both\nclassical and quantum phase transit
	ions.
